Paving is the process of removing old asphalt and installing new asphalt. The following is our process
of paving:
- Break and haul away old asphalt
- Grade and level area
- Apply 1"-2"
rock base
- Install new redwood headers and stakes
- Apply tack coat to butt joints
- Apply weed killer
- Deliver
and install 3" thick of hot mix asphalt
- Steamroll to compation as needed
Resurfacing is a cost efficient way of paving. Resurfacing is the application of 1 1/2- 2" of asphalt
over existing asphalt. It is a cost efficient application because the existing asphalt is not removed. The following is our
process of resurfacing:
- Clean and prepare surface
- Install new redwood headers and stakes
- Apply
weed killer
- Apply asphalt tack coat
- Pre-base any holes and trenches with asphalt
- Deliver and install
1 1/2" of hot asphalt
- Feather and hand iron edges
- Steamroll to compaction as needed
Seal coat is an important maintenance treatment because it helps increase the life of asphalt. It protects
from oxidation, rain, and chemicals. The following is our process of seal coat:
- Clean and prepare surface
- Treat oil spots
- Crack filled cracks 1/4" or wither (additional cost)
- Repair potholes (additional
cost)
- Apply seal coat mix with long-lasting additives
